Warcraft Movie Trailer Thoughts

The Warcraft movie‘s trailer has been released at Blizzcon today (US time). The film is set to be in theatres June 10, 2016. My thoughts are below the video – I’ll be rambling a little bit as I’m just writing out my thoughts as they come, so I’d like to apologize in advance.

Warcraft (film). Legendary Pictures & Universal Pictures. Directed by Duncan Jones, written by Charles Leavitt and Jones. Starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky, Daniel Wu.

I actually hated playing World of Warcraft every time I tried it, but I did play a bit of Warcraft III over the years and enjoyed the game, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

Hearthstone now available on mobile phones

As of today, Blizzard’s hit card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is now available on iOS and Android phones.

The game is downloadable via iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon App stores, and all cards and decks are shared across any device linked to the same account.

Playing the game on a mobile phone for the first time will grant players a Classic card pack, free of charge.

There is no indication that the game has a Windows app, but players with Windows phones are requesting that one be developed. This is not the first time Blizzard has created mobile applications without a Windows phone port: World of Warcraft’s remote chat app was released in 2011 without a Windows phone app.

The game released an app for tablets (also without a Windows tablet app) last December, and was originally released for computers in March 2014. A Battle.net account and an internet connection are required to play.
